How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?

My real name is Candice Rodney. At a time in my life when things were kinda hard I said I’m going Rogue and people just continues calling me that which turned in to my DJ name Rogue when I became a dj few years ago before crossing over to become an artist.

What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?

A mixture of people and genres really. I’m from a smalll Caribbean island called Domimica so exposed to Caribbean genres growing up mostly soca Bouyon and reggae but I listened to other genres like pop rock and rnb. Artists that I love and listen to Anita Baker, Avril Lavigne, evanescence, Linkin park, lady Gaga.

What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?

Working on my first album gee excited about it. Misunderstood is the first single I release so far. Hoping to release another single very soon like in the next week or two.

What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?

Use my talent as a singer songwriter to promote my Island as there are so many talented artists who never get the chance to be heard. Blending all the styles from all my influences to reach a variety of listeners

What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?

No favorite I love all my songs. Looking forward to doing a album release show/listening party as soon as all the lockdown business is over.

What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far?

Promotion. Its a tricky thing. Coming from such a small place, trying to be heard and growing my fan base has been a challenge but hoping that my music does the talking and hoping to find more outlets so that my music can be heard by more new listeners everyday in order to grow my audience.

What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?

I get inspired by everyday things in life. Sometimes a melody pops into my head and I record it quickly so I don’t forget them before I know it I’m writing a hook then the rest is history as they say.

How Has Social Media Influenced Your Career As An Artist?

Trying to use it in the most productive way possible to grow my fan base and audience. Meet a lot of new people to share music with artists as well as promoters, producers etc.

Teach high school and became a party DJ

Follow your dreams, stay motivated, always find ways to improve your craft, make positive connections.

What Would You Change In The Music Industry If You Were A Top Music Executive?

Never really thought of that. I love to create I would love to see more unrecognized talent have access to the music industry without feeling like it was impossible.
