What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?
Our main Genre is Rock but we play blues to funk style tunes. Our sound is a mix from the 70's, 80's, 90's and up, yet a uniqueness within it's self. From Johns choppy riffs and Marins smooth bass lines you are automatically drawn in and wanting to listen to more.
How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?
John (guitarist) had a dream of his mother who had just passed away, where she was
What Are or Have Been Your Musical Influences?
Each and every one of us has a few of the same influences, what makes it even better is that our main influences are different for every one of us. From Zepplin to Sevendust, Iron Maiden, Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly, Slayer, Metallica, Guns N Roses and many many more.
What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?
We just finished up four songs and starting another four to make it our second album release. Our newest single "All the reasons" will be out sometime in late May, then followed up with the release of our second album entitled TOMORROWS TODAY.
What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? What Is Your Plan Of Action?
Our main goal is to spread our music out to as many people as we can just to deliver our music and see if people cam relate to what we feel. Our plan of action is recording a great album in order to have someone sample it first off, then if they like what they hear they can spread the word around about us.
What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?
My favorite song to play live on stage is All the reasons, when I was writing the lyrics for it, the feeling were so strong, John's riffs were on point and emotional. Hearing a riff like that just drives me to writing my best. When we play it live I can see the people in the audience reacting to the song with emotion.
What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus far?
Our biggest challenge has been finding the right people to make what it is now Mojave Sol. Going through drummers and a few singers, we finally got to that point where everyone was perfect for the band. It's kind of like finding a needle in a hay stack.
What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?
With this band the music came first, I (Steve) was the last to join, from there I would record the music live and put my headphones on and start coming up with melodies for the verses and chorus. Then we would arrange certain part to fit the lyrics.
How Has Social Media Influenced Your Career As An Artist?
Social media has helped us build a good following on all our pages. Not only can it keep people updated on anything new coming out or shows that we perform in, it's one of our main veins that keeps us alive and going.
What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?
I think we all were into music at an early age so learning how to play, John is the only member in the band that has only been in one band which is Mojave Sol. He's also the founder, along with Marin. As for Joe (drummer) he was playing in different bands from 80's original rock to playing death metal for a few bands. Steve (vocals) started off as a guitarist for a few bands then became a drummer for a few bands as well.
Any Advice For Young People (Men or Women) That Want To Succeed In The Music World?
If you wanna succeed, you have to push yourself to keep getting your music out there. Performing live shows are very important if you wanna get your songs heard. It's better to make one fan at a show then none at all just staying home wishing for someone to hear your song. Never give up, even if you've been in band after band, if you have a passion for music no matter what you will always come back to it. We're all in our 40's so imagine how long it took us to find the right mix to make beautiful music.
What Would You Change In The Music Industry If You Were A Top Music Executive?
Pay more to the artist/band for making money for record companies. Without their music your nothing
How Do You Feel About Originality?
Originality is very important in this band, it's the only thing we play. We don't play cover songs, but where were from that's what the people want so we're leaning on doing a few covers to expand our fan base
