What Musical Genre Do You Feel Best Describes Your Music And How Would You Describe Your Sound?

My musical genre is a mix of Dancehall, Hip Hop and A bit of R&B I call it "HYBRID MUSIC".

How Did You Get Your Name? Is There A Story?

I got my name because of my scorching delivery and flow, its always quality music when you hear a song from Fiyah Mc.

What Are or Have been Your Musical Influences?

My musical Influences stem from all Genres of music. Growing up in Kingston Jamaica I was raised in an environment where music was the main source relief from the poverty we lived in so we listened to Everything. Artists like Bob Marley, Tupac Shakur, Jay z, Michael Jackson, Bounty Killa, Beenie Man, Buju Banton are my biggest influences in terms of the type of impact I want my career to have on the world.

What Are You Working On Now? Any Future Collaborations We Can Look Forward To?

Right now I am putting out singles from my vast catalogue of soon to be release music. As far as collaborations, I have already done quite a few with my fellow local underground artists, and I'm working on new collabs all the time so just stay tuned. My ultimate goal would be to have an Undeniably successful career and go down as a legend in music. I would also like to be a pillar for the building of the music industry in Canada and give other blossoming Canadian talent a chance to grow and make money at the craft they love. I have a Hashtag that I use, #letsbuildthisindustry that shows this objective.

What Is Your Favorite Track To Perform Live and Why?

It's hard to pick one, but if I had to I would say "Versatility" From my Album Hybrid Music. I always get a good vibe from performing this track because I alternate between Dancehall and Hip Hop flows, and that's something that really showcases my ability to navigate both genres on a high level.

What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus far?

My biggest challenge in my career is having money to make the moves and execute the ideas I have.

What’s Your Typical Songwriting Process?

My process is whatever it takes. Sometimes music just comes to me and i'll have a whole track done in 15mins, most of the times though I work on my music. I'm at the point now where all I need is a topic and my imagination will take care of the rest.

How Has Social Media Influenced Your Career As An Artist?

Social Media is my Biggest platform and has been a positive influence on my career so far.

Mostly old school music such as Three Little Birds by Bob Marley, Song Cry by Jayz, People Make The World Go Round Songs like that.

What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music?

I was born. lol Seriously though I have been making music for as long as I can remember.

Any Advice For Young People (Men or Women) That Want To Succeed In The Music World?

Anyone who decides to pursue a music career needs to understand that it's not an easy road, you really have to love music and believe in yourself to be able to navigate the ups and downs of the game.

What Would You Change In The Music Industry If You Were A Top Music Executive?

I would change the monotony of the music industry. I feel like music lacks variety right now, you can hardly tell most of the artists apart not just in the way they flow and sound, but also in the way they look.

How Do You Feel About Originality?

Originality is extremely important because it keeps the music industry growing and evolving. Nothing wrong with doing some covers and remakes though especially for independent artists like myself. They help audiences connect with you because you are giving them something they are already familiar with. I find that it opens the audience up to hearing your original works afterwards.
